Biondi Santi is a renowned Tuscan producer known for it’s Brunello di Montalcino. Brunello di Montalcino owes its existence to Ferrucio Biondi-Santi. After many generations of winemakers, the Biondi-Santi family continues to produce elegant wines to be enjoyed over many years. Ferrucio’s grandson Franco took over running the estate from his father and maintained the traditions set out by his father and grandfather. Jacopo Biondi Santi is the fifth generation in this legendary line. The family continues to use traditional viticulture methods which highlights the wine’s characteristics.
Produced with Biondi-Santi’s proprietary Sangiovese Grosso clone “BBS11”, sourced from vines up to 10 years of age at Tenuta Greppo. Bright ruby red. Ample and intense bouquet with aromas of violets and wisteria in ﬂower, fresh cherries and delicate hints of citron which are intertwined with spicy notes of pink and white pepper corns and a subtle, sweet scent of vanilla pod. Elegant and distinguished, this Rosso di Montalcino has a smooth and medium bodied ﬂavour with a fruity core. This exceptional vintage reveals an impressive tannic structure and a well-balanced fragrant acidity which is typical for the terroir at Tenuta Greppo. The ﬁnish is long and savoury. This wine is perfect with Tuscan cold cuts, pasta with ragout, fresh cheese, roast chicken and grilled red meat.
